Taibah Valley’s senior leadership team, headed by Chief Executive Officer Dr. Abdulrahman Al Olayan, staged an evening event dedicated to the Madinah entrepreneurial ecosystem on December 2, 2019. Staged in the presence of Chairman of the Taibah Valley Board of Directors, HE Dr. Abdulaziz Al Sarrani, the Taibah Innovates series will culminate in an upcoming Demo Day. Entrepreneurs from the area were invited to share ideas and received feedback from KBW Ventures founder and Chief Executive Officer, Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud at Taibah University.

Dr. Al Olayan and Prince Khaled took part in an interactive fireside conversation titled “Humanizing Innovation: When Technology Serves the Greater Good,” and fielded a number of audience questions. “Having Prince Khaled visit us in Madinah added unprecedented value to our event through his experience in venture capital specifically, and business in general,” said Dr. Al Olayan.

“The contestants of the event are now preparing for the next phase: the Business Acceleration Program which focuses on growth. Prince Khaled’s speech had a profound impact on the contestants and added very rich information to their existing skills; thereby helping these entrepreneurs develop their own business models and prepare to meet investors in the coming stages,” he continued.

Dr. Al Olayan added that community engagement activities staged by Taibah Valley, in line with Saudi Vision 2030, directly benefit the area’s startups by helping to educate and inspire. He highlighted that innovation requires fresh information and fresh stimulus, and that Taibah Valley continues to motivate entrepreneurs by arranging knowledge-building workshops and events in collaboration with entrepreneurial ecosystem partners to work to position it as a tech hub.
